I have been a Sky Broadband customer for several years but they were unable to provide me with the top mbps package and as such I switched to the Virgin Media 1Gig Broadband. I've connected the main Sky Q box to the router with an ethernet cable but none of my 3 mini boxes will connect and hold the connection. Tried all on/off and reset options to no avail. Any ideas most welcome.

I updated my boxes in settings and it worked after that but I had the same problem when I switched.

What did you update in settings?

There is a difference in how the minis connect when you are with SKY vs 3rd parties.
When your home wifi is not SKY then the minis do not connect your home wifi but instead use a wifi signal generated by the SKY Q main box which may then extend via the minis
You probably need to reset the network connections in the minis and when asked to press the WPS then it is the WPS button on the main box
