Sky Q - Live tv, recordings and streaming apps crashing...
Sky Q - Live tv, recordings and streaming apps crashing...by this I mean we can be watching a while then out of nowhere the screen blanks (black screen), sometimes it will flick back to the picture and carry on then repeat again moments later or we have to exit and select the show/app again!
I had an engineer booked for today, but he's a no show and after looking at my account there is no booking showing 🤦🏼♂️
Using the Sky VA, this suggests I do a hardware replacement...Is this free of charge?

Try a Reset Settings in the Q box hidden menu.
To enter hidden menu press Home and navigate down to Settings but do not select Settings.
With Settings highlighted press 0 0 1 Select.
Only Carry out the first Reset (Reset Settings) as the other two will wipe all recordings.
After the Reset you will have to re pair your Bluetooth remote If you use one.
If you cannot switch the Q box on with the remote after the Reset press the Standby button (Amber led) on the front of the box.
To re pair the remote press 1 & 3 together on the remote and follow onscreen instructions to re pair.
Make sure that you are pointing the remote at the Q box when you press 1 & 3 together.
Resetting the settings will also reset:
Audio visual settings, such as picture resolution and HDMI control
Settings changed within the hidden engineer menu, include LNB type. If on a communal dish you need to reset the LNB to SCR in the hidden menu. After changing the LNB type you need to reboot the Q box.

Don't suppose you're on EE broadband are you? If so, there is a recurrent compatability issue which I've seen in hundreds of threads across the community. We're at the end of our tether with it and the stock response from some mods has been Sky are unable to replicate. Sorry, I don't have an answer, we're in the same boat and I fear II now have a decision to make between EE bb and Sky TV! Hope you get sorted.

No, I'm actually on Sky full fibre (fairly recent upgrade!)
SKY replaced the box and we've still had the issue crop up!
it's possible that it's interference from audio/visual settings - even though I'd not changed ours perviously, I've taken all Dolby sound settings off as I've only got a Sony Sound bar at the moment! Also test different visuals, my tv was set to 1080p, seems better on 1080i or vice-versa I can't remember!!

Did you get to the bottom of this as we're experiencing this too. All through the apps, not when watching 'native' Sky channels
