Sky Q HDMI connection dropping with LG OLED TV

I found this on you tube how to assign an hdmi channel on start up. 

One press on remote for TV and one press to turn on sky box. Solved the problem. Hope this helps.

I had exactly the same issue with sky q box and new lg tv. Had new board installed on tv new sky q box and hdmi cable fitted still problems . The issue was resolved when sky installed a version one box, apparently this has a different chip set and now everything works as it should.

Hey! LG G3  guy here again - im software version 23.20.54 and. iam STILL HAVING THIS ISSUE.

what is going on. my parents normally are up first so they turn the TV on, only to have to bend down and pull the hdmi out and back in. for Sky  to work.

I'm using the 8K Blekin braided cable , the best on the market and the same i use for my PS5 on the same TV, which is working perfectly.

Another potential fix that has been working for me (LG C2), I have been changing the audio input on the TV to TV Speakers and then back to soundbar and it solves the issue without the need to turn HDMI control off or unplug and plug in the HDMI cable. When I fire up the Sky Q box it turns on the LG TV and then I get the no signal detected screen come on, as soon as I switch to TV Speakers the picture and audio come through fine, then I change back to the soundbar audio input setting and it also works fine. Takes around five seconds and has otherwise solved the problem that everyone seems to be describing.

thats too complicate d aowrkaround for my parents, i bet theyd rather plug in and out theyre old school.

I sussed it a few months ago.  It was to do with the sound settings. Ever since I've had no problems.  I don't have a soundbar just sky q and LG TV.

i have the LG G3 and the sonos arc.

To be fair the issue seems to be happening less, but when it does i just change the speaker to tv and sky q pops up.

With the G3 there is no need to go back and change the sound output to the arc as the hdmi eArc connection overides the tv speaker selection within a couple of seconds (which is annoying as i may want to watch the rugby with no sound and listen to music on the arc).

This problem still exists.  I have recently bought an LG 48C46LA.  Connected via HDMI 1 to Sky Q and HDMI 2 to an LG US60T sound bar. Frequent no signal issue when switching on from Sky Q.  Have tried the switch audio out work around with success.

I found by turning Sqy Q on with the home button it powered on my Lg tv and Lg soundbar,

but then I would get the no signal message from sky box,

At this stage id turn off the sounbar by its remote, the sky box would then come on, then i turn sound bar back on, its a pain, but its worked for me.
