I found this on you tube. Possible solution. Will give it a go when I'm home from work. Getting very frustrated with lack of response.

Simple work around not the end of the world - why so much blame placing needed a software issue between two different company's, happens all the time.
Satellite broadcasting is on its way out so expenditure may be going elsewhere.
1.Turn your LG on first - any remote using whatever long/short press required
2.let lg screen clear (oh wow took seconds)
3.turn on Q box - (oh wow I can watch that)
No indigestion involved. Been working fine for me stops the issue

Thanks. Tried the things you have suggested, repeatedly, but, unfortunately the only 2 things that seem to work on my brand new OLED65G3 (days old) are removing the HDMI cable and then replacing it again or switching Sky Box off then on again.
For anyone experiencing this for the first few times, removing and replacing HDMI cable seems to be the easiest and works every time. - just frustrating! I would suggest moving the Sky box to a higher place of easy access to avoid scrabbling around on the floor each time you want to watch Sky.

Just received my LG C3 55" and USC9S soundbar directly from LG on Tuesday. I have the same issue which started a couple of days ago. The only thing that seems to work is to remove the HDMI cable from the TV (not the Sky Q box) which is far more accessible than trying to remove the Sky box end of the cable. Small comfort but at least its not a major fault with the equipment. LG TV software is 03.30.73 if its still relevant.

Another wee "fix" that may help folk having the hdmi issue with Sky Q. I changed the power option on the Sky box to NOT go into standby on its own. Now I can switch the TV on with its remote, leave for a few seconds on the start page and then press the home button (button showing a house on it) on the Sky remote. This has stopped the TV losing its connection with the set top box.

Hi there,
Does anyone have any updates on this issue? My LG CX55 OLED and Sky Q box have been absolutely fine for 3 years, but recently - since early April 24 – the picture will freeze (sound sometimes continues, sometimes emits a high-pitched static sound) and the TV will turn itself off. After unplugging from the mains for a while it'll be fine, but then the problem resumes - sometimes after a few minutes, sometimes hours, but always comes back.
Native LG apps run no problem, and the PS5 is fine. I've spoken to LG, who suggested a static reset (turn the TV off at the mains and hold the power button for 30s) but had no other suggestions.
I've tried a different HDMI cable and different HDMI input. I've disabled HDMI link on the TV and the Sky Q equavilent. I minimised the recordings to well below 70% of hard drive space, performed a soft AND factory reset on the Sky Q box (all suggestions from after speaking to someone on the Sky TV helpline for 40 minutes) which lost all the remaining recordings 😞 but did nothing to resolve the issue. and still had no luck.
I have a Sky engineer coming next week but my worry is they'll replace the box (for a fee I'm sure) and nothing will change if it's a software incompatibility issue. Just wondering if anyone else on this thread has had any resolution with the issue as have basically given up on being able to watch Sky until it's resolved.

Hi all,
Could I ask if anyone has managed to find a fix for this issue?
I purchased a new LG OLED C3 TV recently and the connection with my Sky Q box upon boot up keeps dropping.
The only fix is to unplug and re plug the hdmi into my Sky box.
Absolute pain given everything is held within a cabinet.
any help is much appreciated!

Hi. The only work around I have found that seems to work at the moment is to turn off hdmi control on sky q box.
Set lg c3 to come on hdmi 1 which sky inputs to.
I turn sky q on with short press of q remote then long press to turn on c3.
Seems fine every time. Not perfect but saves the whole unplugging business.

For many many months my LG TV keeps going silent then switches itself off and then back on again whenever we touch the sky q remote control. When we first got the TV a couple of years ago this didnt happen so I presume some sort of update ages ago caused this. It is now doing this about 10 times per night and my husband who is in control of the remote is not a happy bunny.
