Sky Q Ethernet signal improvement question
Currently running Sky Q, Broadband rounter, booster and 3 Q minis.
Our house is long with broadband route at one end and Sky Q main box at the other (hence the booster).
There are a couple of solid walls the signal has to negotiate, but the booster helps in that regard - to a point. The signal can be quite poor at times and drops outs frequently when using apps and the furthest Mini box only works for a short while before picture stutter and loss of signal all togther. (Ironically, this one is just a few feet away from the router!)
My hopeful solution is run an ethernet link between the Router and the main Q box. (and to one of the Mini boxes).
Is this likely to improve signal stability rather than relying on the wifi?

Yes, this will make a big difference to watching on the Sky Q main box. However, your mini boxes will still rely on WiFi. So, the issues you mention with the mini boxes will remain. Can you wire them to ethernet too?

Re: Sky Q Ethernet signal improvement question
I could certainly use a two-into-one ethernet cable from the router to one of the boxes.

Re: Sky Q Ethernet signal improvement question
I switched ages ago from Sky broadband to Virgin fibre but was still having wifi issues, due to being an old house with solid walls. In the garden I basically got no signal.
I bought myself 5 Deco M5 discs when they were on offer and created a mesh network. The router now runs as a modem with 1 deco disc plugged into it, the rest run via wifi. Since I've set up the mesh network I even get 80mb/s wifi connection at the bottom of the garden (on M350 package).
My mini box was struggling for connection until I plugged it via ethernet into one of the discs, but I think that was down to the settings, I've not tried changing as all works well.
An option for you.

Re: Sky Q Ethernet signal improvement question
I do a Deco 3 Mesh system running offf the router as well, on a different network, to run the ancillaries (Computers, ipads printers and other family linked stuff) so as not to clutter the sky Q network.

Re: Sky Q Ethernet signal improvement question
I did exactly what you have suggested, and it works perfectly.
I'm with Virgin Media, but in any case had switched that to modem mode so I could use a more powerful router. But even between two bedrooms (one brick wall in the way) the Wi-fi connection was unreliable, with the mini box often going offline. Even the main Q box would sometimes struggle, even though it was only a couple of metres away from the router.
I wired both boxes to my home network and haven't looked back.
I hate Wi-fi.
