Sky Q Dish Installation at front of house

I'm looking to install Sky Q and I've been advised that the dish needs to be installed at the front of the house for a strong signal.

Unfortunately there are building restrictions preventing the dish being mounted to the front face of the house.

Is it possible to fix the dish to the side of the house, on an arm/extender etc. So the dish still points in the right direction but isn't fixed to the front face of the house?

Thanks in advance.

Hi @Deturbo92

Difficult to judge without exact details but it should be possible to mount the dish on the  side of the house and still get it pointing to the front.

Only you can judge this.

Re: Sky Q Dish Installation at front of house

Thanks @oldfella

Are sky's installation engineers typically equipped to do this?

Thanks again

Should be possible with a standard dish mount @Deturbo92

If it is possible the installer will be capable.

@Deturbo92A dish could possibly look over the roof the real problem is that it will be too high for the standard installers to reach using their standard ladder.

There is a working at heights team but how to get them to attend is one of life's great mysteries.

You could get an independent aerial installer to do it for you BUT they need to supply the correct equipment for Sky and have the appropriate test meter ALSO tell Sky if you are going to get this done and get their agreement, preferably by email, that their installer will connect a Q box to your own dish, things can and do go wrong with this combination.
