Sky Q Box saying I have internet connection but will not open home page or apps

 My Q box is connected by ethernet and the wifi connections have been turn off.  

On the Network settings page it reports that it is connected to the router and the internet. I cannot connect to any app, catchup and the Home page says I am not connected! though Settings - Network  does say I am connected to my router and internet. Intresting if I switch the Q box off and then back on after 10 seconds, when the box starts I get the home page OK but as soon as I go away from the home page, and then go back, it says I am not connected to the internet even though if I go back to the Setting - Network it reports that I am connected to the internet. I have a Sky mini which is on the same network  and has the same issues..

 

The Network setting are 192.168.10. 7 , Sub Mask 255.255.255.0 Gateway 192. 168.10.1 DNS 192.168.10.1

 

Intesting my router reports that on the SkyQ box my cable connection is on the Mac address of the 2.5G wifi, and also it is seeing the Mac address of the ethernet connection.

2.4GHz wifi, not 2.5G

 

that's weird. Have you double checked the wifi is still disabled on all sky boxes?

 

also worth trying to change the DNS (it shouldn't matter but sometimes it helps) to 1.1.1.1 or 8.8.8.8

Sorry, a bit of a typo error on the 2.5

 

Yes have checked that the wifi is off on the Q box and the mini box and if i take out the eithernet lead the Q box and mini loose connection

 

And I have tried differnt DNS as you have surgested. 

 

All my other devices are fine with router and gateway only my Sky boxes!

Honestly I can only suggest starting from scratch setting up the Q networking again. I had exactly these symptoms 2-3 years ago, but was still trying to use wifi at the time, and ended up changing the whole network setup (to effectively ethernet as far as the Sky box is concerned) and it's been fine ever since.

Bump.  Brand new Sky Q install today.  Using Ethernet only.  It gets an IP address, subnet and DNS from the router via DHCP and says connected.  But when you go to the home page it says not connected to the internet. (Which is it!?)  I don't have any miniboxes or other add-ons.  How to debug the connectivity?
