So tech guys at audio visual place tell me this is a know issue with some AVR units and Sky Q version 2 boxes. They advised me to request a v3 box. I've been trying to do this for weeks now. First they sent me another v2 box, same issue obviously. Now I call and beg for a v3 box or cancel. After jumping through hoops and some time later I get through to Sky Technical. Wow, I had to try to.explain what an AVR unit was but he could not comprehend. Kept telling me the Sky box is Sky q not sky v3. I tried to.explain its the hardware version but he had no clue. There are loads of posts where the sky box won't send out an hdmi signal. But they have never heard of it. Now waiting to cancel.

Hi @Maax
There is no difference in the HDMI output between the V2 box and the V3 Q boxes.
I have a V2 box here connected through a Denon 6700.
I have experienced the issue in the past with a Sony TV.
The issue occurred when the TV HDMI inputs were changed while the Q box was on and connected.
Characteristic of this fault was loss of Signal on the Q box and brief flash of picture and sound when the Q box was switched off.
However for the past 8 months or more I haven't had the problem. Whether or not Sky or Denon have done any changes I do not know.
Main thing to do is to make sure that the Q box is in Standby before switching or changing away from the Q box HDMi or when internal Apps are being used on the TV.
Also when switching the TV into standby best to put it to Q box HDMI.

Hi thanks for your reply. Have you had a V3 box? The Audio techs assured me that the v3 boxes didn't suffer the same issue.
I don't really want to disable the CEC features as don't want to have to juggle 3 remotes at a time. It's a feature that should work, it doesn't, sky will not even attempt to help pr appease me with a v3 box so I have cancelled contract.
