Sky Q 2TB no output or sound

Hi. We've had our sky Q 2TB for a few years now and yesterday it's decided not to output any video or audio. But I do know it has network connection and the hard drive seems to be working as I can access the recordings and live to on our sky mini multi room box. 

things I've tried:

  • Soft reboot just from button on box 
  • hard reboot from socket more than 30sec off 
  • new hdmi cable 
  • different input on tv
  • Different tv from another room 
  • waiting - waited till this morning

any other ideas on what to do?

Thanks sorry I should have mentioned i tried that too... but no luck with 1080i either... I have however solved the issue!

both my Sony TV's had an Android update the day before which basically has somehow screwed up the HDMI inputs.
From reading in other forums apparently the only fix is a reluctant factory reset on the TV. I have done this and it is now working! 

 

So for anyone reading this in the future, it could be the TV's!

HI @Savvy 

 

With the SKY Q box on, try pressing the following keys in sequence

 

Home 1 0 8 0 Home

@Savvy  Glad you are sorted & certainly not one I thought of.

 

It is unfortunate that we see more & more companies rolling out flakey updates.

It is great when they add new features and deal with bugs but not great when they introduce new bugs.

 

Hope the factory reset doesn't mean too much personalisation to restore
