Sky Q 12 month no contract package

Been with Sky (Q and broadband package) for over 20 years. Will be out of contract in August. In the past I have managed to negotiate a new contract which has run for 18 months. I understand that any new contracts will now run for 2 years.

However I have received an email from sky with a price for my existing package  - a slight increase- which will run for a further 12 months with no contract. If I do nothing this new arrangement will automatically take over when my current contract expires.

Does this mean that Sky are no longer looking to keep customers under contract? Has anybody else received this sort of offer?

Yes it should automatically apply if you select the deal.
It should be a rolling contract so if you decide to go elsewhere you'd only need to give 30 days notice.

It's usual if the contract is due to expire.

  • Thanks Virginia. The email expressly states there's no new contract with this offer which is why I raised the issue.
