We've just upgraded the main tv that sits on the master SkyQ 2TB box - and it now supports UHD...
So I recorded and watched this weeks race shows in UHD - and retired to our bedroom (mini box) to watch a follow up show - but it (obvs) won't play a UHD recording...
So I *then* realised/guessed that for next weeks race, I ought to set up both UHD recordings for the main tv - but also boggo HD in case we want to watch anything on the mini boxes...
...but from a mini box, all I can see in the channel list is 406 as HD (which I thought was now the UHD channel!?!!?)
Argh!
Soooo.... To cover my bases - do I have to set up both UHD and HD physically on the 2TB box - or if I try to set up 406 recordings from a mini box, will it automatically record both UHD and HD?

Mini box will not set UHD recordings. These have to be set by the 2 TB box.
Either box will set a HD Recording.

Thanks for that. A teeny bit more programming logic would let them say "you've selected a uhd channel but this box doesn't support it. Do you want to continue?"
I'll keep on top of this - but it will beyond my partner to remember how/why!

Just had a supplementary thought..,.
...and oh dear, Sky Go is similarly stupid. It doesn't appear to let us set up a UHD recording either. Really?!?
Come on Sky, this is a teeny bit lame!

But it's not a UHD channel - a capable main box will map it to UHD and the mini to HD...

Yup, you can only administer and watch UHD on the main box.
