Re: Sky F1 UHD / HDR feed stutter

Sorry to hear you are having this issue, I rather hoped Panasonic had fixed this with their most recent firmware update on October 7th.

Your best bet is to try and get your Sky box updated to a version 3 box because I don't think a fix from Panasonic is going to happen any time soon.

I haven't had any issues with my new V3 Sky Q box, and, in my opinion, think the picture quality is better overall with the new box.

Best of luck.

Re: Sky F1 UHD / HDR feed stutter

I have had my Panasonic Z95B for a week and have this issue with Black screen when watching any UHD HDR HLG content on Sky

I cannot believe this has been going on so long and both companies have not resolved this problem, I have been told that Sky cannot guarantee what box type I would get swapped out to just not good level of service.

I have looked at returning TV but it appears same issue is also happening on LG G5 and latest Samsung OLED so in my mind Sky need to fix the software on their V2 boxes or get more V3 boxes made

hi @Jamie+Simms  you have been advised correctly - SKY's systems do not differentiate between the V2 & V3 boxes as they are both UHD 2TB HDR capable.

As the future for SKY is streaming no new SKY Q boxes are likely to ever be built & they will rely on what boxes get returned for refurbishment, unfortunately

Re: Sky F1 UHD / HDR feed stutter

I get that Sky are moving online streaming but is the UHD HDR picture quality as as good as via Satellite? The main issue I have is that I work away a lot so record lots of live sport which I understand that you can't watch back on demand in full in UHD HDR.

i am rather disappointed and confused why Sky keep sending out V2 boxes if there are known issues like this with new tvs as appears online that LG and Samsung OLEDS are also affected by this issue and have been for over a year now.

Re: Sky F1 UHD / HDR feed stutter

Hi, I have just received my Z95B and have this issue with my Sky Q V2, have you been able to resolve it yet? I spoke with Sky, they told me it must be a Panasonic issue.

thanks

Re: Sky F1 UHD / HDR feed stutter

The only solution that seems to have worked for any of us is to get a V3 box. That worked fine for me. Not the easiest thing to do as sky don't track which boxes the engineers carry.

Re: Sky F1 UHD / HDR feed stutter

Yea a V3 box fixed it but I had to drop to a 1 Tb box and an engineer install

Re: Sky F1 UHD / HDR feed stutter

Thanks, how did you convince them to give you a v3? I'm getting told it's a Panasonic issue.

Nige.

BTW have you been able to get the sky q remote to turn the tv off (standby)?  I'm having to use the Panny remote to turn the tv off. Thanks.

@NigelSteel

I think it can be quite difficult as SKY's systems do not seem to differentiate between the V2 & V3 2TB boxes and I suspect that V3 2TB boxes are quite thin on the ground.

As @Katashtrophie indicates the 1TB UHD boxes are all V3 boxes (v1 1TB were non UHD & there wasn;t a V2 1TB) so this is probably the easiest way to guarantee getting one

Re: Sky F1 UHD / HDR feed stutter

100% requires a V3 box to resolve. Only way to do it is to get an engineer visit as they're more likely to have one on the van.

I had two new V2's through the post initially.

As others have said, V3 box is 1TB.

Re: Sky F1 UHD / HDR feed stutter

Nige, I have had a problem turning the power off on the Panasonic also . Been through most of the automatic codes, even posted back a few months ago about on my findings. Not sure which code I am on now but the power button  on remote will turn tv off, but its a bit hit and miss. Need to press button for about 3 seconds, the green led flashes once, then release and led turns to amber. If led stays green, screen will come back on with " no input" screen showing. There does not seem to be a way to determine which code is locked in as going through setup reverts to the first chosen channel.

I also discovered that Alexa and camera are on by default. Button underneath led to deactivate.

Regards.

Re: Sky F1 UHD / HDR feed stutter

I've just had a very informed call with Sky Technical and they have arranged an engineer visit for Friday to change my 2TB V2 to a V3. Speaking with Annie she advised this was a known issue with later Panasonic (mine is the Z95B) and Samsung TV's. Once sorted I'll post here. I'll try and get them to sort the remote to switch off the TV too.

@NigelSteel

Hi Nige, how did the swap go and are you now stutter free?
