I have actually no idea what the problem is.
There is no option for just a 'general enquiry' to Sky.
My Sky Box - every so often - has a fan noise coming on and I can only stop it by pulling out plug connections or switching off at the mains.
I would like an engineer to come to check this out for me, and also maybe my broadband input needs raising or upgrading?

None of Sky hubs used for broadband contain fans. The main Sky Q and Sky+HD boxes contain a hard disc which can make a noise and they do have cooling fans. General rule is not to place anything on top,of Sky TV boxes and avoid putting them on a carpeted floor as both interfere with the cooling.
The fan switching in or out has no relation to your broadband speed it is normally because the unit is getting too warm.

It's up to you to choose a different broadband technology, if that's available at your address.
Putting the address into the BT Wholesale Availability Checker should indicate the infrastucture in the area.

It's the table and the two text lines below it which are most useful.
Remove any personal information (such as the address itself) if you post an image.

I dont have anything resting on the box at all, and there is definitely a fan sound coming from it.
I have a photo but it doesn't seem easy to upload it.

Yes.

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more@ShirlR as I posted both of the main Sky TV boxes contain hard discs and cooling fans either of which will make a noise. Unless the case feels abnormally hot (ie you cannot leave your hand on the upper surface) there is nothing to worry about. Do ring Sky if you are worried but getting engineer out this side of Christmas is unlikely.

Thanks for your reply. The Box is SkyQ and it doesn't get hot.
This only seems to happen when I use Paramount.
The other Apps seem to run perfectly.

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more@ShirlR the fact the fan runs is not a fault as such so Sky are unlikely to replace the unit if isn't overheating . Cant explain why it only runs wiith that app though.

Perhaps the app works the CPU a little harder than the others and requires fan cooling. It may be 'normal'.
Of course it may be a software issue which shouldn't be overworking the CPU but it's not regularly reported here.
