Yes, that would prevent the set switching to an HDR mode.

For my TV it was SkyQ >Settings>Audio visual>Picture resolution > 2160P> choose 8-bit enter.
Sorted in a sense, but you lose HDR.
And apps like netflix probably work ok on HDR on your TV, when run on the Q box because they don't use HLG. Worth trying out 10bit colour again with one of the apps but flipping bavk and forth will probably be annoying.
