SKy Q change from 1TB to 2TB box
Hi, I returned to sky Q last week after cancelling back in August. I have just realised that they have sent me a 1TB box when I really need a 2tb box as I need to connect two minis at the same time. I believe the 1TB only allows 1 mini box at a time. I was about to order a second mini box when I realised the problem. Will they swap my 1TB for a 2TB? (I've only had it a week) thank you

thank you

Re: What is sky titan?
Yes, it's an internal code name for one model of Q television box: there's also an X-Wing and a Falcon, so apparently someone within Sky has a copy of a Star Wars encyclopedia...

What is sky x-wing
I have a device on my Apple ID listed as Sky X-wing. Could it be my sky q tv box or is it my family member's Sky HD box ?

Re: What is sky x-wing
Not sure why it would be listed on your Apple ID but Sky X-Wing is an internal codename for a Sky Q product

Re: What is sky titan?
There have been four different main Q boxes versions, plus the Mini box: presumably the different internal code names refer to different models.

Re: What is sky titan?
@pinknina667 Sky Q was introduced in 2016 since then various versions of the Q boxes have been introduced the early boxes did not support HDR which appeared on a later version. If you ask this question in the Sky Q forum one of the members can give more detail. .

Re: SKy Q change from 1TB to 2TB box
A 1TB is the normal Sky Q box now provided.
You can have a maximum of 4 mini boxes loaned to you by Sky. You can watch Sky content on two minis and the main box at the same time. You may be able to use a 3rd mini box at the same time if you’re using it for one of the apps such as Netflix.
All 2TBs and the UHD/HDR 1TB permit two mini boxes. Each mini box which is loaned to you may be subject to a one off upfront charge but you only need one Sky Q monthly Multiscreen subscription.

The 1TB UHD/HDR box, which permits two Mini boxes in simultaneous use, has been the default hardware since late 2019. The restriction you refer to is applicable to the non-UHD 1TB dating from the first launch of Q in early 2016.
It has been known for those older 1TB units to be shipped by mistake, though, or where the household doesn't have a UHD subscription.
To check which Sky box you have:
- Press Home on your Sky Q remote.
- Select Settings followed by System info.
- Check your Hardware version and use the table below to see which type of Sky Q box you have.
Hardware version number | Type of Sky box | UHD-capable? | HDR-capable? |
---|---|---|---|
32B0xx | Sky Q 2TB | Yes | No |
32B1xx | Sky Q 2TB | Yes | Yes |
32B2XX | Sky Q 1TB UHD or Sky Q 2TB* | Yes | Yes |
32Cxx | Sky Q 1TB | No | No |

Re: SKy Q change from 1TB to 2TB box
Hi, I have checked and I have a number starting 32C009 which looks like it is a pre 2020 box? Does this mean that box only allows 1 mini?

That's correct. As I mentioned above, it's not unknown for that rather vintage model to be shipped where the household doesn't have a UHD subscription (or just in error)
