For several years now SKY has happily promoted Rugby League and given us some superb coverage.
Now it appears they have decided FOOTBALL is far more important and Rugby League can be put on the back burner.
After all, just look at their coverage. Matches on Main Event, Premier League, and Football. In many cases showing on 2 channels simultaneously.
Now we don't even merit 1 dedicated channel!

All it would take is for the re-runs to be available for recording ( even at silly o'clock in the morning) either on SkyQ and / or Sports+. However I feel that recording on Sports+ is a no hoper!

@graceland22 I quite agree, I am no longer able to watch all super league games - something they kept advertising earlier in the season.
It took 3 emails to the complaints line to get them to even address the lack of full game streams on the service.
When they did finally answer it was pretty much 'there are currently no plans to add full game streams to the service'
As you say, This service seems totally aimed at lower level football

Have you got proof @Raider999 that this is the case.with regards to football
As I'm struggling to find a PL match to watch on a Saturday scheduled at 3pm due to the Football blackout meaning any 3pm matches on a Saturday are not Live streamed or televised but Rugby is🤔
So correct me if I'm wrong Rugby Super League Season starts from February through to September with the finals taking place October.
Sky Sports+ HD launched 8th August
Also last week one match was available via iplayer and via SS+app
Today Sunday 1st September both Rugby Super League matches are available via the SkySports+app with the added bonus that one match is shown Live on BBC2 which is a recordable channel is it not?
And also matches available via Sky Sports + HD which is a recordable channel is it not

I don't get your point.
We used to be able to record ALL six matches.
There are six matches weekly. Only 2 of them are recordable on Sky and you are forced to choose between other matches played simultaneously and sit and watch on Sports+ live. there is recourse to recording those games or re-runs to record.
The BBC one is one of the few that they are allowed to show and will not happen each week and is a red herring in this discussion.
There is no 'build-up' or interval interviews etc on the live streams. Altogether a retrograde step for RL watchers.
The 3pm football thing is a remnant from the old days when virtually all matches kicked off at 3pm on Saturday and was supposed to encourage attendance, but football match scheduling is in a different world now. RL has nearly always had different ko times - Friday nights, Saturday and Sunday afternoons.

Hi I spent around 2 hours over the weekend asking how I can record the games that are only available on the app.the answer is NO.they say there is a back catalogue of games already played .but there isn't? There are highlights of games 4 or 5 mins you can watch this for free on BBC rugby league show.i am not happy .I'm in contract and mostly record the games and watch at my leisure. Now I can only record 1 game a week ? How long before they put that on the app aswell and then I can't record any games ? Spoke to 3 people in India they didn't know what I was talking about.sky you have sold out rugby league fans

The Sportsman, on You Tube shows RL, including League One. Possibly a location for catch up?

The odd BBC match certainly helps in planning which matches to record and which you have to watch / miss streamed. That is the unfortunate position RL watchers are now in.
I really think it is partly about advertising as that is a major source of revenue. When you watch recorded matches, how many of you just whizz through the adverts? It is reflected on other channels for mainstream tv, eg ITVx - you can pay extra to watch without adverts.
Choice is becoming more limited in some ways, we have lost Sky Sports Arena and now Sky Sports Action has disappeared from my listing.
How long before they want to shut down the satellites and it will all be 'streamed'?

Arena has been renamed Sky Sports+ and Action becomes Sky Sports NFL every year at this time.

Not a case of wanting to: Sky has never owned or operated its own orbital platform. The current trio of satellites at 28.2E carrying Sky and Freesat to this country were launched around a decade ago with approximately fifteen years of positioning propellant on board, so they will have to be parked or de-orbited in the fairly near future. Their owner (SES) has made no announcement that they intend to commission any replacement for what's a rather small (and shrinking) market in UK/RoI compared to continental Europe (where they have made such an investment recently)

They could still offer a catchup service but need to pull their finger out (and maybe renegotiate the contract)
As an aside, why do so many RL fans seem to want to watch every game? Is there something about the origins of the game or the structure of the league that makes this more interesting / relevant than in football? (Maybe I just don't know any proper football fans 😆)

You have to be a true RL fan to understand. It's a close knit community and like to keep you with what's going on.. every game no matter who you support has impact on other teams just like any other sports but because. RL isn't as popular as RU or football but we are all dedicated..It's a place where while families can go to matches and it's actually a family day day. You don't get that at football matches.

The only reason I renewed sky was for the rugby league and their now untruthful claim you could watch all the games on sky. I did record all the matches to watch at leisure but now of course the majority are on the red button so no chance, I did e mail sky to complain not expecting much of a response and that's what I got so when contracts up it's bye bye sky.

Hi I'm just in the process of cancelling my sky sports .I'm in contract but have said I'm not happy as now I can't record the rugby league
