@OldGrumpy a totally agree...I was phone tonight asking about this stupid live crap and the guy kept insisting we could record and was doing everything he said and there is no option except "watch live"..I have sent an email to the complaints department but as we all know nothing will be done about it.

We are just RL fans so a minority compared to the football fans.Even though they are still quick enough to take our money every month.

Not that it will be any consolation to you, but you can't record the football on the red button either. There is no recording function for the red button streams, so I'm not sure what your C'S agent was trying to achieve.

Re: Sky Sports + on Sky Q

Not looking good at the moment. Watch one game at once live only, tough if you can't watch live or want to watch more than I game played at the same time.

also tried to watch a game tonight that had already started but could only watch live, not from the start. Awful service so far.

Re: Sky Sports + on Sky Q

So frustratring to have to put up with this two thirds of the way through the season - I've recorded and watched every game so far this year up to tonight. Had hoped that you'd be able to watch the games on Sports+ on demand after the event, but that doesn't seem to be the case and in trying to locate them ended up seeing the final scores of both matches in the descriptions of the few minutes of highlights that were available on demand. Massive backward step for RL fans, if it's now only 2 games a week on the normal Sky channels and only being able to watch the other 4 live with no way to record or seemingly no full matches available after the event for those games on Sports+.

Complaint email incoming to Sky, not that it'll do any good...

Re: Recording more than 1 live match through the red button

What would be nice is the games on the red button being available to download once they've been played. I've just looked and they've only got saints v salford on there oh and here was an added bonus they give you the results of the 2 games on the red button that I've not been able to watch, so no point watching them then.

It was annoying before when games were on at the same time and they gave you updates of the scores of the other games(some people like to watch all the games without knowing the result) but this is a joke.

At least allow to watch the games without telling us the results beforehand. Usual Sky, all singing all dancing but not been checked for problems.

Thursday nights game is available in full On Demand, so I wouldn't give up hope of Friday's games appearing over the weekend.

The difference, of course, is that Thursdays game was broadcast on a linear channel, whether that makes a difference to its availability I don't know.

Re: Sky Q box customers 2nd class citizens? The thin end of the wedge with Sky Sports+?

Using a VPN and accessing sports such as F1 on overseas free TV sites is not illegal. Websites such as WhatHifi even explain how to go about it.

@Hengus Using a VPN to gain access to content you don't pay for or isn't broadcast in your country is illegal, it's obtaining services by deception at the very minimum, it doesn't matter if the content you are accessing is on free to view TV in another country. If whathifi are giving out information on how to do that they are advocating piracy.

It's illegal in a contract law sense. It's not a criminal offence.

Obtaining copyrighted material by VPN is piracy and it is illegal.

I cannot 'cut and paste' a link to the What HiFi link but I suggest that you search for F1+What Hifi

Note that the article is less than two weeks old. If What Hifi is advocating piracy, then I would have thought that their lawyers would have prevented publication.

I have read the article, it seems to me to be a promo for NordVPN enabling you to watch coverage you have paid for in your home country whilst in another.

The article is quite clear on needing a Sky or NOW subscription to watch full coverage in the UK, that free highlights are on Channel 4 and you can accesses timings in the F1 Pro app but not the live streams.

...here's our guide to where to watch F1 live streams. Races are shown live on ESPN (USA), Sky Sports (UK), Kayo Sports (Australia) and F1 TV Pro (RoW), though lucky fans in some countries – such as Austria – can watch a free F1 live stream of every GP! Use a VPN to pick up your usual stream from anywhere, if you're away from home.

Can you point to any case law that shows precedent for someone being prosecuted under piracy legislation for using a VPN?

Piracy typically involves copying material so I'm very interested if it has been successfully applied.

They do have a pretty blatant "top three VPNs" article.
