Re: Removed ariel for free view box upstairs
The aerial (which is the antenna on the roof) was never connected to the dish but it probably was connected via an RF cable to the old sky box which then passed the signal out again via another RF cable to the freeview box.
That can't be done with Sky Q because it has no RF sockets. You can just connect the incoming cable and outgoing cable (with an adapter) both of which should still be dangling around behind the new Q box, to make a direct connection from the aerial to the freeview box.
Sky installers often don't do this when upgrading HD to Q, which imho is a bit poor.

As @Chodley indicates, Freeview would never have a feed from a satellite dish, athough its aerial connection might pass through a Sky+ box.
Freesat, on the other hand, does use a dish, and if a subscriber doesn't specify that they wished to retain existing Freesat when ordering Q, then yes, it gets disconnected at the dish because the standard Q LNB has no spare connections. If specified ahead of time, Sky has a 'hybrid' LNB which facilitates both Q and Freesat.

Oh that's a good point. I hadn't considered maybe it is a freesat box which has perhaps had its coax disconnected from the dish because they've put a standard Q LNB on there.
