The box turns on then turns straight back off

Are you turning it on from Standby or from completely switched off? Does it get to a stage where an error message appears on screen? We need some more information to help.

It turns on and gets to the point where it says press the home button when the screen goes blank. But you then get a flashing red and green light for a few seconds and then the box just turns back off. It just keeps repeating that.
