Hi guys, I have been directed to this group from sky’s virtual assistant. is it me, or is this just a little odd? They even said that “remember that the group are not Sky employees so they won’t know all my account details”. I do appreciate that often users are much more knowledgeable about products. As I bet you guys are and after the online conversation, I just had I am certain that you are as I believe the sky’s virtual assistant, I was dealing with belongs to the Chocolate teapot, Chocolate fireguard or ash tray on a motorbike fraternity, since they were no help at all.
Any who here is the issue, I have had SKY connected for many years but had SKY Q installed a couple of weeks ago with a Qbox & a Qbox mini. I was initially pleased with the setup & both boxes functioned ok. I have additionally had my broadband uprated to full fibre superfast since I live rurally & county broadband were doing an install in the village.
So even though I was still running my existing BB I decided to switch over to the new BB. That all went well and I connected all my devices up and finalised with the SKY. The Qbox went fine but when I tried setting the Qbox mini I had issues. I Had already directly connected the Qbox mini to my old BT router with an ethernet cable since I had issues with it dropping the WIFI due to range. So, if memory serves me well, I dropped the WIFI connection from the settings on the Qbox mini but during or after this I lost the ability to create a WIFI setting for my new BB on my Qbox mini only. I power up the tv & get to the main screen on Sky, the one with the LH side menu but, I can get no response with the remote when I attempt to move/highlight a button like TV guide, Recordings or Settings and none of the remote buttons take effect. The remote is new worked last week fine & has new batteries also it goes to the Sky main screen when pressed for a blank screen on startup. I could go on (as my friends would tell you) but I will hold on for now. I will answer any questions and reveal what I have tried if you come back to me. Any help is much appreciated.
P.S. Note: I have tried resetting both the QBOX & the MINI several times. My new BB is full fibre optic to the router. I have tried reconncting to the old BT router & the QBOX is working but not the MINI. I am unable to change any settings on the MINI as the remote not respond to button pushes.

@RayLin70 the first thing to try is resetting your remote.
Press the buttons 7 & 9 together on the remote until it’s led flashes four times.
Then press 1 & 3 together until the led flashes twice then follow onscreen instructions to repair the remote.
I may be a Sky Superuser but I am still just a Sky customer

@RayLin70 the first thing to try is resetting your remote.
Press the buttons 7 & 9 together on the remote until it’s led flashes four times.
Then press 1 & 3 together until the led flashes twice then follow onscreen instructions to repair the remote.

Thank you Laing1. Excellent quick response that resolved the issue that I have been struggling with for many days. I can't thank you enough, I was considering discontinuing my Sky subscription. I had not considered the remote dropping out of its paring with the Mini box since it appeared to be working when I reset everything & only at the last stage when the main SKY screen was on with the side bar menu did it appear not to work as the buttons on the remote did not work then.
