Q mini box not connecting despite main Q Box screen showing it as ok with a tick

It main Any Q box is in the ounge and is hard wired via ethernet cable to our router. All connections are showing as ticked so should be fine but the sky booster connection light isn't on. DQ mini box is in the kitchen and it is this one that will not connect saying IP address missing. I've re set the booster and switched off at the mains and reconnected the mini box but nothing makes any difference. I've rebooted my router as a precaution and the internet and wi fi is good. It feels like the Q mini box is faulty but if anyone had another suggestion please advise.

@davark Have you tried rebooting your main Q box ie
putting your box into Standby then switching it off at the wall for 30 seconds
switch it back on then follow the on screen instructions

then

rebooting the booster then rebooting the mini box

Re: Q mini box not connecting despite main Q Box screen showing it as ok with a tick

Hi@Laing1, you very I've tried every single step recommended and more but nothing worked the sky booster between main Q box, the Q box and Q mini were all re booted in sequence as recommended and while it eventually worked for that day, the next time it was a case of re doing the entire thing. Being disabled the physical process has to be fine by my wife who was getting extremely annoyed at not being able to just turn on her TV and watch especially when a good prog was coming on. Anyway, I believe this is a firmware issue not software so over to Sky, time for an updated mini box and/ or signal booster.  Were both technically minded as is our son and son in law, they couldn't fix for reliability either.

Hi @davark

Rather than rebooting you need to carry out a Network resets on the mini box.  First however you need to consider where the Sky Q boosters are located and to what they are connected.

As your main Q box is connected by Ethernet then this should be good.   Provided you haven't turned of the WiFi on the main Q box then you can connect the Q WiFi booster to this (or your Sky router if on on Sky Broadband) by pressing the WPS button on both devices that you wish to connect.   If you use the Sky Q router make sure it is the WPS button you press and not the reset button..

Once the booster is connected then you need to carry out Network reset on the mini.

Network Reset found in mini box Home - Settings - Setup - Network.
Highlight Status and then select Reset on the right hand side and follow  instructions to connect to nearest Q device by WPS.  (Nearest device can be a Q booster, Main Q box or Sky Q router.
