Hi @SJSQ

First reset your broadband router.
If on Sky broadband hold the Reset on the back of the router until the power light flashes green (about 10 seconds). Don't unplug or switch off your router while it resets. The power light will go green when it's done.
If on 3rd party broadband and your router does not have a reset button, reboot it by disconnecting the power lead for 30 secs and then reconnecting.
Wait until the router is completely back and running and then try a Network Reset found in Q box Home - Settings - Setup - Network.
Highlight Status and then select Reset on the right hand side. Follow instructions to connect by WiFi to your router. Even if reset is not listed there is still an option to connect by WiFi to Sky or 3rd party router.
If you are on Sky Broadband you will be asked to press the WPS button on the Sky router. (Not on the Q box as the Network reset will start the main Q box WPS automatically). Make sure you press the WPS button on the Sky router and not the reset button.
If you are on Sky Broadband with the new Sky Max router then you need to connect it as if it is a 3rd party router.
If you are on 3rd party (non Sky ) broadband then you need to enter the SSID and password for the router 2.4 Ghz WiFi band.

@oldfella , But surely the Op should not have to do this everytime, the connectivity of Sky hardware is ,quite frankly, appalling and has not improved over the years.

Back to Sky Q and 2 mini boxes after a failed attempt at Sky Stream (again) , VM 1 gb Broadband and Google Nest WiFi Pro.

Re: Q box not connecting to wifi

Mine is the same. For whatever reason my sky Q box disconnects from my WiFi  and will not reconnect again unless I reset the network connection  and re-enter my WiFi password.

There Is clearly a problem with the Sky Q box design. If the WiFi drops for whatever reason the Sky Q box should be able to reaqquire the WiFi without a need to reset network settings and reenter the WiFi password.

Our phones drop our home WiFi networks everytime we leave the house. We don't need to reset the network settings and put WiFi passwords into our phones in order to reaquire our WiFi  everytime we get home do we!

Perfectly summed up....👏

Agreed. It's trying to be too clever for its own good and it makes it way too unstable.

Re: Q box not connecting to wifi

Exactly - lately it has been off more than it has been ofon and the wi-fi also keeps dropping.in the early hours.

The Q box has been playig up for ages - disconnecting itself, and if you try and get hold of anyone at SKY it os practically impossible.

I was going to have fibre fitted but SKY install let us down four times in a row, we had to cancel the install because we were running out of holiday to have a day off to wait in for BT who never once said they weren't going to show. In fact each time both SKY and BT texted the day before to confirm the install!!

Appalling customer service, appalling TV service.
