Q box has been replaced and still freezing

My sky Q box has recently been replaced as it was not turning on with having to reboot the box and once it was on it would continuously freeze.

since the box has been replaced we are still having the same issues and they are worse then before.   Since the new box resetting the box does not resolve the issue and we are now unable to watch Sky Q without any issues.

Fixed it. For anyone else's benefit all I had to do was reset my Sky Router. I suddenly realised all the problems had started when I changed the router password and maybe split the channels 2.4ghz and 5ghz. So pressed the reset button on the router, 15 seconds and all that, and re-connected the Sky Q box to it and no more freezing, fan getting excited. I reckon it had been struggling to work out IP or DNS address or somthing, causing it to overload and crash.

Hi @Cook5845

Try a Reset Settings in the Q box hidden menu.
To enter hidden menu press Home and navigate down to Settings but do not select Settings.
With Settings highlighted press 0 0 1 Select.
Only Carry out the first Reset (Reset Settings) as the other two will wipe all recordings.
After the Reset you will have to re pair your Bluetooth remote If you use one.
If you cannot switch the Q box on with the remote after the Reset press the Standby button (Amber led) on the front of the box.
To re pair the remote press 1 & 3 together on the remote and follow onscreen instructions to re pair.

Make sure that you are pointing the remote at the Q box when you press 1 & 3 together.

Resetting the settings will also reset:

Audio visual settings, such as picture resolution and HDMI control
Settings changed within the hidden engineer menu, include LNB type. If on a communal dish you need to reset the LNB to SCR in the hidden menu. After changing the LNB type you need to reboot the Q box.

Re: Q box has been replaced and still freezing

Hi, I'm getting the same problem, received my replacement sky Q box last week and it's still freezing and sometimes won't even turn on without powering down first. Any ideas?

This is happening to me too. Replacement box today. Exactly the same thing. Becomes non-responsive, fan goes into overdrive. Loses internet connection and Sky Mini disconnects too. So annoying. I've had it with Sky. It's un-usable!

Are the boxes with issues on an open shelf with good ventilation or are they hidden away in cabinets?
