I moved into a house that already had a Sky dish installed, so setting up my Sky Q TV was fairly simple. An engineer did need to come out to fix some faulty cables, but no dish installation was needed.
However, during our 1-year inspection, the landlord complained that we installed the dish without permission. We informed them that we didn't install it and wanting some proof to back this, I contacted Sky customer service.
The chap i spoke to said they don't keep any records of work completed by engineers, and likewise the engineers dont tell Sky the work they completed (which seems odd to me!?)
They also couldn't confirm whether Sky has previously had any acocunts linked to the same adress, which I understand to an extent as is could be under data protection
Looking for advice on the best way to support my claim. Any help would be appreciated!

you could challenge the landlord to prove it wasn't up before you moved in

Find out moreOn installation, the dish and relevant cables become the property of the householder so in the case of rented property probably the Sky account holder. Depending on the state of the dish if it's been up a while and showing signs of wear and tear that should suggest to your landlord that it's not a new install.
