I am a VIP client whatever that means and have been suffering the dreaded UHD sync and picture drop our seen via UHD channels especially premier league .it has been progressively getting worse and even using live sync is unacceptable. I pay for the full sky package through sky Glass and have EE fibre top package with super fast broadband .
despite this watching sports in UHD is intolerable and frankly unwatchable ! What is sky doing about this and will I get a monetary refund as i can only watch in HD?
sky super Sunday completely ruined , in the end watched on sky go on iPhone - absolutely ridiculous
hi @Adam208
I don't normally watch it but do seem to be getting the lip synch error - changing the Audio from DD+ to ordinary DD seems to get it back in Synch.
I know this looses Atmos but probably better to be in synch than have the extra speakers & separation
I know it doesn't help today's game but worth noting should it occur again

Lip Sync Issue on Channel 401 UHD, no settings will make any difference to the problem.
Does changing
Home - Settings - Setup - Audio Visual
Digital audio output HDMI to Dolby Digital (from DD+) not make a difference for you - it does for me

@TimmyBGood hope you don't mind me tagging you.
Are you able to advise Glass (& maybe Stream) customers how, if possible, to select the DD (non Atmos) sound on SKY Main Event UHD
(I am not too sure if it will be possible with the TV Sound itself or not)

2/2/25 4:30pm
suoer Sunday
Sky sports UHD
Samsung TV
No additional speakers
Audio out put Dolby digital
when switched to normal doesn't solve problem at all

Hi, thanks for your suggestion, it's already on just 'HD' I have found that if I use channel 402 and select UHD from there it's better but weird that 401 is well out and can't be changed when trying different settings!

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreI don't have this issue currently while watching Main Event UHD, but then my set up is pretty straightforward at the mo, Sky Q > Sky Soundbox > LG TV with output set to Dolby Digital as neither my TV or the Soundbox support Atmos.
I did have some infrequent lip sync issues previously when I had a SONOS Beam 2 in place before I swapped the Soundbox back in and Sky Q was still on Dolby Digital due to the TV not supporting Atmos.
Hard to diagnose this one, there seem to be a lot of variables.

This is definitely a sky issue .i have a 65 inch Sky Glass TV all of the options for the UHD package which I pay for sports etc and movies are internal to the kit sky provides .All the 'gubbins' are within the purpose built TV. We changed our fab Sony tv ( never had a problem on UHD- same sky package same EE internet /broadband) as getting rid of wires and dish seemed sensible .
can anyone at sky help with this?

I'm honestly not trying to be funny but this thread has been going since July 2023, there is no permanent fix, so I doubt it.
How many people have answered the question asked by the sky person, but there seems to be no sky involvement here.
Switching from us to uhd and other ideas seem to temporarily fix it, but as far as I can see there is no fix, just workarounds
As others have suggested keep complaining and ask why you pay for uhd with atmos when it does not work

My previous post just got removed
In summary, call sky to complain and you'll receive some compensation. They may then invest in a permanent fix...
03 Feb 2025 02:49 PM
i doubt it.
Sky don't seem to invest at all. They claim they do, but they just 'black box' other companies development and kit, badge it their own and claim they're 'investing'.
seriously wonder why i pay so much for a shoddy service.
03 Feb 2025 06:48 PM
Agree fully. They do need to invest in a much better puck that can cope with fast streaming. I really don't think that in its current state it won't, but is just my view and seems a few others on here
03 Feb 2025 06:49 PM
I can't help solve the problem; but also confirm that I have the same...
401 UHD = lip sync issue.
402 select UHD = no issue.
I never had the issue with my original Sky Q box, this issue only started after having a new HDR box installed in December.
Sky fix this please!!!
