Primary Sky box works when connected to internet by wire to a non Sky modem. Will not couple to mini

As above, I can couple up sky q mini box and get it working, but if mains power to mini box is turned off  I have to begin from scratch when power is restored. Is this the only option?

Hi @solver 

It possibly is yes.

Minis are not designed to be completely powered off at the mains when not it use.  They should be put into standby.

I power mine off every day but reconnect just fine.  (They are connected via Ethernet though)

But if leaving them in standby works then do that - they only consume a tiny amount in that mode.
