Yup, just an investment of quite a few million dollars to launch a new satellite to handle the additional bandwidth.
Given the move to streaming I suspect it's not going to happen. (Indeed, there's a limited lifespan of the current satellites).
Basically, it seems they've decided to use the bandwidth on other channels.

Does anyone know why Sky does not provide any HD music channels (channels 350-399)? The quality of the music channels is awful, even for modern music videos. This seems a real shame given that most of today's TVs are built for HD and this must be an issue affecting everyone, it definitely detracts from the enjoyment and makes Sky's overall package less appealing. I would have thought it could be easily fixed.Thank you in advance for your response.
@amcan It has nothing to do with Sky.
You need to ask the owners of the music channels as Sky only provide a platform for them to broadcaste on.
As @PandJ2020 says its probably to costly for these channels to broadcast in HD but feel free to contact the owners of the channels to ask them

There used to be a HD music channel called MTV LIve HD, it left Sky in 2016 but is still on Virgin Media.
