Pixelated ITV / Sky channels (x23).

I have Sky Q.
On the evening of 6th February I was unable to watch ITV1 because the screen was pixelated. I had to stream it on ITVX (though the Sky Q box). I checked the next day, during the morning, and it was fine. That evening, however, it was pixelated again. This had been the same each time I have looked - ok during the day, but pixelated in the evening.
I have considered booking a Sky engineer but was worried if I couldn't replicate the fault, there wouldn't be anything they could do. I have since seen on this community page that this seems to be a common issue. I have just checked the channels from 101 to 300 and I have 23 that don't work:

Whilst on ITV1 I went into the settings to look at the signal quality/strength:

Strength - 60

Quality - 90

LNB - Wideband.

  1. ITV1 HD - intermittent interference/blue   screen (prob with satellite signal).
  2. Sky Witness - blue screen with message prob with satellite signal (pwss)
  3. Sky Comedy - pwss
  4. ITV3 HD - interference
  5. Sky Documentaries- pwss
  6. Sky Nature - pwss
  7. Sky Arts - pwss
  8. Sky Sci-Fi - pwss
  9. Challenge - pwss
  10. Sky Replay - pwss
  11. ID - pwss
  12. Nat Geo Wild - pwss
  13. Together - pwss
  14. Travelxp - pwss
  15. Sky Showcase +1 - pwss
  16. Discovery +1 - pwss
  17. TLC+1 - pwss
  18. ID+1 - pwss
  19. HGTV+1 - interference
  20. Disc.Turbo+1 - pwss
  21. Animal Plnt+1 - pwss
  22. Disc.Sci+1 - pwss
  23. Disc.History+1 - pwss

Can anyone from Sky please advise me on how I can get these channels working again. ITV1 is at least a mainstream channel that I want to watch, but an unable to.
Thanks.

Hi @71JCW

You have posted this in the sky Stream board. Hopefully a moderator will move it to the Q section where they will be able to help.

Would suggest from your description and on screen messages that your dish may have misaligned slightly.

Best would be to read through this article, but also would recommend using the Book engineer online link at step 5.

The engineer has equipment that will test the alignment and reset it, showing any errors and would not make an assessment just looking at your TV and Sky Q output

Thank you. I can't even see where it says sky Stream. It says Sky Q at the top of my screen. Hopefully someone will amend my error!

Re: Pixelated ITV / Sky channels (x23).

Thank you. I have worked through this a couple of days ago and got as far as booking the engineering, but at the time there wasn't an appointment available that was suitable. I then found info about issues with ITV and wondered if this was what I was seeing.
I'll see if any more appointments have become available.
Much appreciate your reply.

hi @71JCW

With the reduction in numbers of SKY Engineers and storms a couple of weeks ago it does mean that slots are limited.

Hopefully you will be able to book a slot soon but do note it may be a few weeks away.

BTW one thing to note that the Signal condition indicator can be misleading on SKY Q as it does not report the status of the channel you are actually watching but instead a transponder set in an engieers menu
