Picture on all channels has darkened

Whilst watching sky the picture gradually darkened  checked it was on all channels tried settings , tried turning off & on but dark picture still remains

And the TV brightness setting for that input definitely hasn't changed?

Does it look darker on menus too, or only when watching programmes?
