Permanently disconnect sky q wifi

So our sky q box despite switching off the wifi hotspot and accessing the engineers menu to disable the wifi continues to turn the wifi back on and insists on trying to connect to it's own wifi despite me having a LAN cable plugged in.
really getting sick of this as I have to repeatedly spend time going through the menus, disabling the wi fi network that I've already switched off, reset the network connection, tell it i'm using a wired connection but the box switches the wifi back on and connects to it's own wifi and then tells me it's not connected to the internet, I then have to access the menu, disable the wifi that I've already switched off , and repeat multiple times

is there another secret menu or way to disable the inbuilt wifi so I don't have to spend hours reconnecting the internet connection every week?

Hi @Flyingfocrs

Edit.

You need to turn off the WiFi immediately after a Network and not before

Are you completing the the procedure below exactly as specified.

When all boxes are connected by Ethernet you can then switch off all Q box WiFi.

Start with main Q box and first carry out a Network reset with the Ethernet connected.
Network Reset found in Q box Home - Settings - Setup - Network.
Highlight Status and then select Reset on the right hand side. Select connect wired to non Sky Router (or Sky router if on Sky Broadband). Do not carry out any WPS and just wait for the box to connect. It may take a couple of minutes. If it does not connect there is an issue with the Ethernet connection.
Immediately it connects go into the Q box hidden menu and turn off WiFi.

To enter hidden menu press Home and navigate down to Settings but do not select Settings.
With Settings highlighted press 0 0 1 Select.
Go to Network to turn off both bands of WiFi. Confirm before exit.

Repeat the network reset on any minis in the Mini Home menu with the Ethernet connected. Again do not do any WPS and just wait for it to connect.
Once it is connected go into the mini hidden menu (same procedure as above) and turn off both bands of WiFi. Confirm before exit.

Re: Permanently disconnect sky q wifi

I have done all of that.
i don't have any mini boxes.
when i select connect with a wired connection it just ignores that and reconnects to it's own wifi.
basically no matter what I tell it to connect to it just defaults back to the internal wifi.

have te repeat the reconnect multiple times and then eventually it randomly reconnects and works for a day or two then the whole process repeats again even though i have done 001 select - wifi off
