Experiencing this issue now on. 25/9. Been like it for a couple of days. 

loathed to reset hard drive after reading this

@Bizzisg Have you tried rebooting your main Q box ie
putting your box into Standby then switching it off at the wall for 30 seconds
switch it back on then follow the on screen instructions

if that doesn't work 

You could try resetting the settings in the Q boxes hidden menu.
To enter the hidden menu press the home button and scroll down to settings but do not select settings.
With settings highlighted press 0 0 1 then select
Only Carry out the first Reset being Reset Settings as the others will wipe all recordings.
After the reset you will have to re-pair your remote assuming you are using a bluetooth remote by pressing 1 and 3 together on the remote

worth a try before doing a factory reset

  • No I'm not getting this issue any more. Suggest you contact sky. Sorry that's not very helpful but I don't know what else to suggest if you've done a planner rebuild and a hard Reboot. Hold off from a full reset incase Sky are still having problems. Good luck.

Thanks for the suggestion. Tried all that and tried a forced update. 

have rebooted 3 times now and nothing 😩

That's a real pain. I wish I could help you with the issue. I'm no expert but I don't think a full factory reset will help. You'll probably just lose all your recordings. I hope you sort it. I'd be grateful if you could let me know what the final outcome was. Good luck. I wish you all the best. I know how infuriating this can be. 🤞

Sorry to be so late in reply. Hard disk reset resolved the issue. Lost a few precious recordings of grandkids on various shows, so, thanks Sky...

Very odd. I don't have any issues. I've checked my CNN channel too and all OK. Don't know what's going on, sorry.

Hi Devonlad25, 

 

The previous reported issues of this type were eventually found to be a fault at Sky, not us customers. 

The fault was rectified (at their end) and I haven't had an issue since.

 

I originally thought it was my hard drive failing, as these symptoms can point to the hard drive. 

 

Have you tried a hard reboot? Switching to standby then unplugging for a few minutes.

Then a planner rebuild afterwards?

This may help.

Also ensure that you always delete the programmes that you have deleted. You can put them in the bin (as it were) but make sure you empty the bin too. It runs more smoothly then.

 

Otherwise I don't know what else to suggest. 

 

Maybe it's their end again but mine's OK at the moment.

My Sky Q has just done an update and now I cannot pause or rewind. Have tried updating again and restarting the box but to no avail.

You need to contact Sky. 

  • When I had this issue I did everything short or a total reset. In the end it was Sky at fault. They should realise their error and correct it. Only thing is, how long will it take them?

I'm starting to think Sky are doing this to wean people off Sky Q and In my case Sky HD Box 2TB.

I think they are trying to push Sky Glass and their new streaming PUK thing.

No- I can't pause live tv. It's the only reason I have sky box! Not happy!

It's very frustrating I know. I'm OK at the moment but I've had the issue before. I hope sky sort themselves out soon!

After all, Sky isn't cheap! 😕
