Patchy sky signal - unwatchable

Patchy sky signal that skips and freezes every few seconds, intermittently the signal is fine but lags every 5 - 10seconds. Occasional blue screen with message stating the signal is disrupted.
We are at a elderly family members house and they recently had an engineer out to adjust something. To me the problem is the dish is pointing directly at the ridge of the house which is effecting the signal but would like any other suggestions prior to an engineer coming out.  We were last here 6months ago and signal worked perfectly then. Any help greatly appreciated!

Hi  @saninja

Are there any trees or vegitation that may be obscuring the signal?

Regardless it's best to have your dish alignment checked.

Work through the following link and if you cannot solve your issue it will lead to booking a Engineer.
Alternately, if you are on a Communal Dish you will need to contact your Landlord or Management company.

Re: Patchy sky signal - unwatchable

Thank for the advice.

The dish is poorly positioned directly at the ridge of the house. It may have moved slightly in the bad weather but I haven't been able to correct it so an engineer is coming next week. I will be relying on old fashioned dvds & boardgames to keep the kids entertained when it's raining  (no wifi here either!)
