Recently got a Sky Q box but not paying for Sky Cinema. I got a call today from Sky to make me aware of what is now available to me as a Sky Q user. They said that paramount plus is now free to sky q customers even without a subscription to Sky Cinema. I can't find anything that confirms this online so wondering if anyone can confirm please?

Hi @LB09
Certainly news to me.
As far as I am aware you still need Sky Cinema to get Paramount plus free.
Confirmed in current link

edit
i suspect someone has confused this with Discovery plus whic is free to all Q subscribers.

thanks yes she did say discovery plus was free too! I double checked with her on the Paramount and she said it was definitely free to Sky Q users!

Not according to the Sky Website @LB09
You still need Sky Cinema to get Paramount plus free.
Suggest you ask them to confirm in writing or by email.

Not that it will do much good if it doesn't actually work 😉

I've just noticed I can access paramount plus without a sky cinema subscription too. I tried watching girl in the basement and it played. Maybe it is free to sky q uses after all?

Hi @KCK1978
The following is taken from the Sky Website.
Paramount+ is a streaming service with blockbusters, new originals, exclusive series and hit shows. It's available to Sky TV customers with Sky Cinema at no extra cost (normally £6.99 a month).

If I were you I would check that you haven't subscribed for £6.99 per month. Either that or there is a limited free trial.

Hi. I thought that and checked my subscription and I definitely don't have sky cinema 🤷🏻if it's a free trial, it must be an automatic thing as I haven't signed up for it. Very strange. I mean, I pressed play and that particular show started playing and I stopped it to watch tomorrow as I was was about to go to bed so maybe it only will play a certain amount of minutes? I'll see tomorrow. I checked my subscriptions though and it says I have two, discovery+ and paramount+ £0.00
I have no idea lol

You have to give notice to remove subscriptions. I would expect it to work during this period (31 days).
After this is should stop - of course, if it continues after that period it may stop at any time once Sky synchronise subscriptions with Paramount.

I cancelled 2 months ago

Yeah, Sky sometimes forget to cancel these 'free' subscriptions to third party apps. My mother still enjoys access to Discovery+ on her TV app using the login details I created when I signed up with Sky Stream... which I cancelled 6 months ago.

Then it may stop at any time, or not...

It's pretty rubbish anyway. I only really watched strange new worlds and sexy beast. Picture is poor. No atmos sound and only recently went 5.1. think it will never stop. Desperate for numbers

My actual worry is I have been with sky since 1990. I have never known them so uninterested when removing stuff. I have removed HD,/UHD/movies and sports. Didn't bat an eyelid. I'm convinced they want sky q customers off the books and glass and stream on the rise. Sky q box is so good. I have Freesat boxes in a caravan in Wales. Recording ones. Garbage.
