Panasonic TB-43W60AEY and Sky Remote

I have just purchased the above TV for use with my Sky Q.

My old Panasonic TV was 12 years old and I was able to control the sound directly from my Sky remote control. I was also able to switch both the Sky box and TV on from my Sky remote.

It appears that I can do neither now

Is this correct or am I missing something.

Thanks for your help.

hi @IslanderUK

You always need to pair a remote to a TV as there are so many different brands and even within brands many different codes they use.

Your original would have been paired for you by the engineer.

May I suggest you try a reset of your remote:

Press & Hold the 7 & 9 until the remote's light (red LED above the SKY logo button) flashes 4 times

Then press 1 & 3 together to go through to re-pair with the box and your TV - make sure it has line of sight of the box as until it is paired it uses Infrared

(As mentioned  I recommend using the find it for me option rather than trying to find a model number & if Panasonic codes do not work, try Vestel)

Have you reset and reprogrammed the remote to your new TV?

I am just another Sky customer and my views are my own even if you don't like the answers

hi @IslanderUK

Assuming you have tried to pair the remote but unable to find the code for your Panasonic, we know that some of their TVs are made by Vestel for them so try using the Vestel codes (choose the find it for me option when the option to enter a model )

Re: Panasonic TB-43W60AEY and Sky Remote

Thank you both for responding but I am now more confused.

I have never had to program my sky remote, I just put in the batteries and it worked.

I have tried reprograming my remote but it simply turns of the sky box and nothing shows on the TV

Am  I doing something wrong or am I just thick

Someone did - perhaps when it was installed by the engineer?

Anyway, try following the help: https://www.sky.com/help/articles/sky-q-remote-help

You also need to ensure HDMI control (Panasonic call it VieraLink) is enabled on the TV.

@IslanderUK

Also on the TV, using your TV remote, I suggest you go into the The TV menus & check/set the HDMI control settings  to on - on my Pansonic TV it is called Viera Link Settings

Edit : I note @PandJ2020  mentioned this whilst I was typing my initial reply
