PIN and parental controls cancelled but tv still requires PIN number
i have all my parental control off as im an adult living on my own
but often get requested to add my security pin to watch a programme channels like sky mix sometimes requires this (lprogrammes like stargate at 16 00 daily)
why does this happen especially when you can watch this on normal freeview digital tv and it does not require a pin

Re: PIN and parental controls cancelled but tv still requires PIN number
If you're watching age restricted content pre watershed then it'll always ask for the pin regardless of your settings. It is an Ofcom requirement that Sky must adhere to and cannot be overriden by Sky or you.

Re: PIN and parental controls cancelled but tv still requires PIN number
There are certain channels that have the pin requirement turned on by default as no matter what your settings are set to you will always be asked for it. This is show they can show age restricted content before the evening watershed so not just Statgate but content like SWAT for example so rather than the pin being asked for against certain programs Sky have implemented against all content on the channel throughout the day.

Because by definition channels on 'normal freeview digital tv' don't broadcast post-watershed content before the watershed...
Game of Thrones isn't transmitted on ITV at 2pm (for a variety of reasons) : it is on Sky Atlantic, behind a PIN.
Some Mandatory Daytime Protection challenges are undoubtedly errors but there's no way Sky is going to risk Ofcom sanction by not having them, and the Broadcasting Code makes no exception for child-free households.
