We have no satellite signal since our dish came down a few weeks ago because the chimney had to come down. We have been watching apps such as iplayer and Netflix via the internet. Today we can no longer do this as it's says satellite connection required. Yet tge to is connected to the sky broadband. Any idea what we can do to resolve the issue. We've tried resetting up the broadband and internet connection on the TV

That's as expected: Sky boxes require periodic confirmation of ongoing subscription which is received by satellite signal.

Ok and it took 6 weeks for it to survive without a satellite connection?

Yes: the maximum possible period without a satellite signal used to be much shorter, but that caused issues when dish repair/realignment was delayed due to high demand after storms so Sky chose to make it more generous. Q is fundamentally still a satellite television platform.
