Our Sky Q box is connected to our Sky broadband hub via ethernet around the outside of our bungalow. We also have a white Sky booster box & 2 x Q mini boxes. All these were installed by a Sky engineer in 2019 (at that time BT was our broadband provider, we now have Sky broadband).
When we have to reboot the Q box and enter network setup if we choose connected via ethernet to Sky broadband the Q box selects a network name with a SKY prefix. This is not the default name of our Sky router, nor is it the name we gave our WiFi via the hub settings.
Although the Sky Q TV & mini boxes work on this network, it means we cannot using the mini boxes & Sky booster as WiFi hotspots as the 'locked' Sky network shows as a WiFi hotspot but as we have no password we cannot use it.
Does anyone know how to change or eliminate this unknown 'locked' Sky network name (it isn't visible when logging in to our Sky broadband hub)? We are in a rural area & cannot see the WiFi of our remote neighbours so it doesn't come from outside. Thank you.

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreIt's probably the SSID of the booster is my guess. If you can get to its IP from a PC browser, the login is admin/sky by default
