No sound on Qbox
I've suddenly got no sound from sky Q. I've reset the box I've swapped the HDMI leads and tried HDMI in a different input. All settings look correct. Sound on TV is working okay. Any other ideas please?

Hi @Bumface1
Assume you have tried the different HDMI audio Output settings
- Normal
- Dolby Digital etc.
Try a Reset Settings in the Q box hidden menu.
To enter hidden menu press Home and navigate down to Settings but do not select Settings.
With Settings highlighted press 0 0 1 Select.
Only Carry out the first Reset (Reset Settings) as the other two will wipe all recordings.
After the Reset you will have to re pair your Bluetooth remote If you use one.
If you cannot switch the Q box on with the remote after the Reset press the Standby button (Amber led) on the front of the box.
To re pair the remote press 1 & 3 together on the remote and follow onscreen instructions to re pair.
Make sure that you are pointing the remote at the Q box when you press 1 & 3 together.
Resetting the settings will also reset:
Audio visual settings, such as picture resolution and HDMI control
Settings changed within the hidden engineer menu, include LNB type. If on a communal dish you need to reset the LNB to SCR in the hidden menu. After changing the LNB type you need to reboot the Q box.

First double check the setting in :
Home - Settings - Setup - Audio Visual
Digital audio output HDMI
& only set to Dolby Digital or Dolby Digital + if your TV can handle it
If that is all OK, although normal TV may be working I suggest you try doing a power down restart of your TV.
We often find this helps some who loose sound

Thanks very much!

Re: No sound on Qbox
I've followed these instructions to the letter but when the Sky box has come back to life, I get some blurb about "accessibility on Sky Q," can't use the remote to click "skip and set up later" and the 1 and 3 button makes the remote flash two red lights at me and nothing else. Is our Sky Q box now completely unusable or can someone help please? 😳

hi @Purplejamo
This message seems to have caused a bit of a quirk so try this:
Press & hold 4 & 6 on the remote to set to Infrared only (so must have line of sight of the box)
Hopefully you can then dismiss the message
Then try re-pairing in bluetooth mode with the box by pressing & holding 1 & 3 together
If this does not work try a full remote reset by pressing & holdng 7 & 9 until the red led above the SKY logo button flashes 4 times
Then try the 1&3 to re-pair & pair with the TV

Hi @Purplejamo I would reset your remote by holding down 7 & 9 until the LED flashes 4 times. Make sure the box is in sight because the remote will now be in IR mode. Once you get in try the 1 & 3 again.

Re: No sound on Qbox
Sky have suggested the following...
- Unpair their Sky Q remote from the box by holding 4&6
- Wait for the remote to flash
- Then dismiss the information screen "Skip & set up later"
- Hold 1&3 to repair the remote control
If 4&6 does not allow you to clear the information screen, try holding 7&9 to reset the Sky Q remote then hold 1&3 and follow the on-screen setup journey to allow the remote to control the TV.
