No sky sports mix with sky sports package.

Agreed recent package and cannot believe sky sports mix not available with sports package. I have essentials and now realise doesn't include sports mix. It took many calls and over 2 hours on phone. Didn't realise it didn't come with sports package, it's a bloody sports channel and during conversation told sky I am only interested in sport, nothing else at all so when suggested keeping sports, broadband and changing to essential package I did not expect to lose NRL rugby. For me, spending many many thousands over 20+ years I think it's ridiculous of sky to not have it available on sports paçkage.

hi @JohnH12

I am guessing you have Essentials & the Sports add on.

Yes, unfortunately SKY Sports Mix is not part of the SKY Sports add on, as it is part of the base 'entertainment' pack (currently Signature) . The same is true for SKY Sports News

This does catch a few people out, who may assume all the SKY sports named channels are in the Sports add on, not realising they are in the base pack (not the essentials which is free to air channels)

Re: No sky sports mix with sky sports package.

Shambles for me. Also took hours before someone at sky finally told me that was the problem as i thought it was an error after changing. When googling sky it said sky sports mix was on essentials and took another age before I was told that only referred to streaming. Really disappointed as never had any issue with sky ever, always agreed a good deal when contract up and gutted now its coming to the end of the NRL rugby season in Australia and I can't watch any of the final games. Way too expensive for me to go back. If anyone at sky thinks their channel planning for each package is good they must be in cuckoo land as its pitiful leaving a sports channel off the sports package.

It does seem a bit strange but Sky have deemed it's part of Signature and not Q Essentials.

hi @JohnH12

Are you sure it said SKY Sports Mix & not just SKY Mix (this latter being Free To AIr) ?

Either way, as you have found, you need to be careful with Google searches - I think especially as we now get AI summaries which seem to pull info from many sources and can make assumptions.

You also need to be aware that SKY, rather foolishly in some of our opinions, have used very similar names for similar but different products on different platforms - SKY Q Essentials (which is just the FTA channels)  & Essential TV on Stream/Glass which incudes SKY Atlantic & Netflix

'Essential TV' (Sky Glass and Sky Stream) but not 'Television Essentials' (Sky+ HD and Sky Q)

AI responses in particular get confused by that kind of thing.

it allows the base entertainment subscribers to have access to these channels , it wasn't often that noticeable , prior to SKY  allowing Sports with Essentials as you had to have the base entertainment package to get the full sports pack.

It only tended to be noticeable when customers do not have the HD add on

Hi @JohnH12   I agreed that it is not good news for you, but excellent news for everybody on Signature that cannot afford the Sky Sports package.
