No signal, reseating the satellite cable appears to fix

Hi everyone,

Wondered if anyone has been experiencing a similar problem to me. I've had a Sky Q box for about four years and recently when I switch on at night, it displays the no signal message.  Spent numerous evenings taking out and re-seating the two satellite dish cables at the back at the box.  I then trimmed them and this seemed to be a fix, lasting almost two weeks - until this morning, where I switched on the mini guide and the live picture soon changed to "No signal".  Powered off the box, took out and put back in the cabling and again, the picture returns.

Probably time for an engineer call out, but I wondered if anyone had similar experiences.

Thanks.

Just to update in case anyone is searching this fault, an engineer called out today - and fitted these new crimped cables to both the feed going into the box and to the dish.  Dish alignment and feed had been checked and all was fine.  We shall see, but hopefully this will end the loss of satellite signal.

@A77 is the message no signal or no satellite signal  ?

as no signal will have nothing to do with the cables coming from the dish and is produced by your TV as it's not connecting to the box.

Also what time is this problem happening at ?

Re: No signal, reseating the satellite cable appears to fix

It's a no satellite signal, timing usually in the evening given viewing habits but this was this morning when it occurred, after almost a fortnight of behaving fine. Signal strength normally 100/90, nothing untoward there.

Of course, you cannot withhold payment.

Once it's working ask Sky for a credit for the outage.
