I still can't turn on my TV fully using the Sky Remote on /off button. It shows HDMI, I then have to press the home button to get a picture. My HDMI cable is Sky Q box to TV . I have optical from Sky Soundbox to TV but have to use the Devialet remote to activate the sound. Once on I can adjust the volume easily with the Sky Remote. I have tried a new remote, makes no difference. If I disconect the optical I can operate the sound on the TV with no issues.  My Sky Mini Box has no issues. Another Sky Engineer is booked for 9 July to change the Sky Q box. Something is not right!!

hi @2308

Sounds like 2 different issues.

To turn the TV on when you turn the SKY Q box on & (with a recent SKY Q release) trun off both the TV  & the SKY Q box with a long press you need to make sure that both your TV and SKY Q box are set for HDMI control

On the SKY Q box :

Home - Settings - Setup - Audio Visual - HDMI Control

To control  the sound box volume you need to set up the remote control to use the Sounbox

Home - Settings -  Setup - Remote Control - SKY Q Remote - Control Your Speaker System

I am not sure what you need to look for to pair with the Soundbox

Note you cannot set to control both the TV & Soundbox volume  it is one or the other

BTW when using an optical cable you must control the volume specifically using the Soundbox codes

Unlike yourself , tose who can use HDMI ARC can control the TV & Sound equipment via the TVs volume if the TV is set to use the Audio System
