No signal from SkyQ when using Sky soundbox all other sources work fine
Got a strange one in that I get no sinal from my skyQ box when going via the HDMI pasthrough on my sky soundbox. All other inputs (fireTV etc.) work fine using the HDMI pasthough its just skyQ that does not.
I have rebooted everthing I have gone direct from the skyQ box to the sky soundbox taking my AV amp out the loop. I have swapped out the HDMI cable between the soundbox and the TV and no luck.
I can work around it by just using the soundbox via optical from the TV but would like to get the passthrough working again as I nomaly use the optical for another source.

Yes I used it and its no help at all at fixing the issue as the last step is to bypas the soundbox which is a workaround not a fix and as per my first post I have done this and it works but the fact remains that there is no sinal when using the soundbox as a passthough but only for skyQ everything else works fine when passing through the sounbox.

As this is a discontinued product I was having a bit of a mare finding any resources, found this link regarding the sound modes.
Worth a try in the case that it bounces something into place.

Thanks but no luck. Its strange as it all worked fine previously but after not having used sky since the last F1 season finished its now no longer works with the skyQ box but is fine with everything else.

Have you tried a recent software update? If the box has been off for a year.
Go to Settings, then System Info, and highlight Software version.
Choose Setup and then select Software download.
Your box will start to download the latest software. This can take up to 10 minutes.
To check the status of the software download, go to Settings, then System info, and highlight Software version.
When it says "Software update successful" press the Standby button on your remote.
When your box restarts, follow the on-screen messages. You'll then be on the latest software version.

Hi
I have the exact same problem HDMI pass through works with everything else but as soon as I plug in SKY Q box I get a black screen and zero sound
Has anyone found a fix for this yet??

Hi. Just experienced exactly the same problem. Use the TV everyday - no changes - suddenly HDMI connection via Sound Box not recognised - gives advice about no connection / check cables.
Going direct to skybox works - blue tooth from TV to sky box works (with delay I can't control). Did anyone find a solution?

Nothing so far I have just switched to doing the sound via optical.

I too have been having similar issues with my Sky Soundbox. I have tried various cables. I had a sky engineer visit, he was no use. Whether it is to do with my Samsung TV I have no idea!! I have disconected my HDMI cable from the TV to the Soundbox. I am using optical instead. Seems to be working.

What resolution is your SKy Q box set to - if it is 2160p 10 bit, as a test try 8 bit - I am not sure but I suspect the SOund box can;t pass through 10 bit
If it will pass through 8 bit but not 10 bit then it will depend on whether you want to watch in HDR or not as to whether you route via the Soundbox (HDR needs 10 bit)

Just come out of 4 days of nonsense after my Sky Q appeared dead ( or at least not transmitting a picture or sound)
I received a new box and had exactly the same issue with my new box, I was used Sky HDMI>>> Soundbox>>> Hdmi Tv input.
I connected the Sky Q straight to the TV , and used an optical cable out of the TV to connect to the Soundbox and all is good. All set to 2160 UHD too
One interesting opservation, the new box did function during set up , connecting Wifi , card verification , it all went sideways when I tried to swith the box the UHD , it said my TV wasn't UHD. I guess this is because it was looking at the soundbox. When I connected it directly to the TV the box was defaulted back to 1080.

I still can't turn on my TV fully using the Sky Remote on /off button. It shows HDMI, I then have to press the home button to get a picture. My HDMI cable is Sky Q box to TV . I have optical from Sky Soundbox to TV but have to use the Devialet remote to activate the sound. Once on I can adjust the volume easily with the Sky Remote. I have tried a new remote, makes no difference. If I disconect the optical I can operate the sound on the TV with no issues. My Sky Mini Box has no issues. Another Sky Engineer is booked for 9 July to change the Sky Q box. Something is not right!!

Picture resolution is set to 2160p 8-bit...it doesn't work.
