No satellite signal

No satellite signal error message on main SkyQ Box.

Problem occurred since 18:30pm

Turned off SkyQ box at mains, updated SkyQ (prompted to update), reconnected Sky Internet and gone through trouble shooting on SkyQ

Tested Internet and wifi and broadband via your app, its saying no known issues yet SkyQ box display on screen shows no satellite signal error messages

We live in communal flats, all neighbours report non issues eith theirs and we don't have a landlord as we own our flat outright

Any assistance would be grateful

Regards,

Mrs Naomi Ullyett

To change a Sky Q box from Wideband to SCR, you need to access the installer settings and change the LNB typeFirst, press Home on the Sky Q remote, navigate to Settings, and then enter 001. Select Setup, and then LNB type. If it's not already selected, choose SCR mode. After making the change, restart the Sky Q box by switching it to standby, then powering it off and unplugging it from the mains. Once restarted, the box should be configured for SCR.

Detailed Steps:
  1. 1. Access Installer Settings:
Press the Home button on your Sky Q remote. Navigate to Settings, then enter 001. This will take you to the installer settings.
  2. 2. Change LNB Type:
In the installer settings, select Setup. Then, navigate to LNB type and check if it is set to SCR. If not, select SCR mode.
  3. 3. Restart the Sky Q Box:
After selecting SCR mode, you need to restart the box to apply the changes. Press the Standby button on your Sky Q remote to switch it to standby mode (amber light). Then, switch off the box at the mains and unplug it. Wait for at least 30 seconds.
  4. 4. Power On:
Plug the Sky Q box back into the mains and switch it on. The box will now be configured to use SCR. "

Just to let you know every time the sky q box updates or the power is switched off the lnb will revert to wideband so keep a note of the process for future reference

Yeah the minis have no LNB setting because they aren't connected to the satellite feed. That SCR setting always catches people out.

by the way 1830 is always in the PM 😁

As I understand it .............

If the subscriber initiates entry into the 'Installer Settings' and chooses to reset their receiver using either the 'Reset Settings', or 'Factory Reset' option, then, after removal of mains power for a few seconds, a Sky Q receiver will restart configured to use the default Wideband LNB mode.

Additionally, if the subscriber instructs their Sky Q receiver to manually update its software, then it will restart with the LNB mode set to use the default Wideband mode.

Which means that subscribers who use a communal Integrated Reception System (IRS) to provide their satellite transponder signals will need to change their Sky Q receiver to stop using the default Wideband LNB mode and change the configuration of their Sky Q receiver to use Single Cable Router (SCR) LNB mode.

BUT, neither an overnight firmware update, nor a simple loss of mains power, should ever change that LNB configuration mode setting.

Godfrey.
