No satellite signal

Have no satellite signal, anyone in the SS7 area with the same problem? I have switched everything on and off but still says no signal,  it has been out since yesterday. I know the winds are bad but wondering if the dish needs realigned.

Hi @Rach111

Work through the following link and if you cannot solve your issue it will lead to booking a Engineer.
Alternately, if you are on a Communal Dish you will need to contact your Landlord or Management company.

Hi @Rach111 Yes your Dish may well be out of line, and need repositioning , it may be quicker to contact a local installers than to call SKY and book an engineer visit

A No satellite signal is not specific to an area.

Could be a dish/lnb misalignment caused by the recent storms.

hi @Rach111

If you follow through the link that @lettice & @oldfella have posted you should get an option to book an engineer

Re: No satellite signal

Same issue but in TA5 area in Somerset , done all the checks have engineer coming but it's odd as I can  still watch recordings and  CINEMA , Catch up, Store etc but not live TV or Movies . Went off during the storm and hasn't returned . Any one else in TA5 affected ?

@Rosie64 as posted previously, satellite signals don't differ from area to area. It's the same signal broadcast from the same satellite to everyone.

In view of the recent weather, it's most likely because your dish has moved slightly. If you follow the link previously posted, you'll be walked through some diagnostic tests, and ultimately be able to book, an engineer.

It's not odd as the items that are working are not dependent on the dish.  However, if your dish isn't providing a 'keep alive' signal then all services will eventually cease - usually in a matter of days (sometimes weeks).

I believe the grace period is now much longer than it used to be, specifically to cope with the effect of increasing storm frequency and severity (plus, realistically, reduced numbers of Sky satellite dish installers)

Re: No satellite signal

All sorted, now thank you to everyone for all your advice. An engineer came and the satellite dish needed to be re-aligned. Thank heavens for sky go, couldn't miss the F1 today. 😊
