If a message displays “no satellite signal” firstly check that the connections from the Sky dish going into the back of your Sky Q box are still finger tight. Otherwise it’s likely to be a dish alignment issue so check the troubleshooting in this link
https://www.sky.com/help/articles/sky-tv-no-satellite-signal-sky-q
It may then give you the opportunity to arrange an engineer to check the alignment of your dish. If it doesn’t you’ll need to contact Sky to book an engineer appointment.
If you are connected to a communal dish you need to liaise with your building management company / landlord who will have their approved engineers to contact.
Remember, a misalignment is not necessarily something that will be visible to the naked eye and could only affect one or two channels.

Thanks Dan.
Enginneer already booked for next week.
All connections appear sound in house and up at communal ariel point.
New install so doubt it's an alignment issue just strange that switching off psu/splitter socket brings everything back!
Other than the record/tv listing's function.
Thanks Dan.

*update*
Discovered if I take multi room box out the equation (unplug) all services return to my main TV, full signal, TV listing's and record facility.
Switch remote box back on, blue screen returns to both tvs, no satellite signal message on blue screen.
I'm sure in the old days when they had a technical team on hand this could be sorted my end and save engineer visit.
Looks like issue is with remote box in bedroom that is causing issue.

Good Morning ,. Small psu/splitter between main box and multi room remote box in bedroom skyq.
Enginneer mentioned has to be switched on at all times to view remote box in room.
Was all working fine before, not sure if for some reason remote boxes settings have updated or been changed somehow?
Set up possibly reading remote box as main box maybe?
Thanks in advance.

Yes and yes.
As already mentioned engineer due on Thursday but was determined to fix myself and In turn save a an engineer call out.
If it turns out communal dish is squew wif then nothing I can do.
Other users of same dish report no problems.

Presumably a Sky wireless booster.
Possibly an ethernet switch ('splitter')?

A grey box with blue writing (inserter) one cable in from skirting board box, one cable going to main box in living room powered via psu box going into separate power socket.
Skyq with remote box in bed room.
(communal system)

*update*
Both main TV q box and mini q box now recording and appear to be working as normal.
But.. Only if I switch the inserter Dise QC box fitted on install Off even although has remained on since install with no loss of satellite signal error message until recently.
Just letting engineer visit stand as I assume Inserter box is required to be plugged in (as advised) at all times.

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreWell I'm not an expert on communal installations ( @Godfrey is) but I have NO idea why (or how) that needs to be connected to a mini box. The mini doesn't need to talk to the LNB, the main Q box is supposed to do that job.

"DiSEqC enables the user to switch between different satellite antennas and change the orientation of the satellite dish."
There's literally no way to attach such a device to a Q Mini box.

Find out more@Finjay your Sky MDU trained engineer would appear to have installed a Unitron dCSS-422 Sky Q Plug-In adaptor in the communal distribution cabinet that feeds your flat, and in situations where a local power supply is unavailable to power this adaptor each resident that is using this adaptor for their Sky Q receiver will be required to have a 'Power Inserter' installed in their flat, between their wall mounted communal distribution panel and their Sky Q receiver.
Why you are recently having problems when you power the 'Power Inserter' needs to be investigated by a Sky MDU trained engineer.
Godfrey.
