No satellite signal since storm on Thursday

No satellite signal notice appearing on my screen. I've tried all the recommended steps to reboot etc but nothing works. Service Check is showing everything working.

It is quite likely that the dish has slightly moved & needs re-aligning

Please see the following page that covers a few problems  including no Signal - if you follow the link through and still have problems  (which is quite likely after the storms) then you should find a link to book an engineer if you have your own dish

https://www.sky.com/help/articles/sky-q-picture-problems

Note after the storms & with the reduction in number of engineers over the last few years then lead times for an apointment may be several weeks

If you have a communal system you may have to contact your building management to deal with the technicians responsible for the system

@GalwayBoy2  You're going to need to explain what information or communication Sky should be providing, how would they know you have an issue?

Like an announcement that says "in high winds, your satellite dish might move"?

The winds in Ireland were unreal. Saw some videos yesterday. Same type of weather phenomenon that causes the huge 87 storm in the south of England.

Re: No satellite signal since storm on Thursday

I'm in Northern Ireland, pretty much the same as everyone here .. since the storm l have no satellite signal. Did all the usual checks and nothing helps. I am assuming my dish has moved or something in the strong winds. Not sure about booking an engineer as planning on cancelling my Sky TV anyway ...decisions...

Re: No satellite signal since storm on Thursday

Thank you.  I managed to book an engineer for this Saturday 1st Feb.  I imagine s/he won't be able to do much so I guess I will be waiting for a team to get on the roof and realign the satellite dish.  I can manage at the moment - I still have access to recordings and to the other streaming Apps.

Sky don't generally go on roofs. You might need an independent installer.

@Layladylay

Looking forward to potential maintenance in the future the engineers may try to move the dish off a roof if there's a suitable alternative.

Same. Have an engineer visit booked for 14 February. Three weeks is a pretty brutal wait.

Could always try a local independant (at your own cost)

I am just another Sky customer!

That's a good idea I hadn't even thought of. Cheers.

Re: No satellite signal since storm on Thursday

You'd think Sky would relent on the block on screen casting from Sky Go while the satellite service is down and they can't get an engineer out for three weeks 🙄

Way too much to ask, I suppose
