Getting an error message saying I don't have satellite signal. I am waiting to have some trees removed that are blocking my sky dish. Up until now I have had access to apps, recordings and on demand. I have tried software updates (which don't seem to complete), rebooting sky q box, reseating all cables at sky q box and my sky broadband connection is fine.

hi @ColleenQ
Unfortunately after a while without a Satellite signal the SKY Q box, also, stops working for playing recordings or access to apps - this is because it needs a periodic 'Keep alive' signal that is only sent via the Satellite
Thus you need the Satellite signal restored to be able to use again
You can use SKY Go on a phone/tablet /PC/ Xbox etc if you have one
