Hi
I pay a subscription for SKY Movies, but I cannot watch any on channels 301 to 311 - I get the message "This channel is currently affected by a satellite signal problem." But I can watch all the other SKY channels, Movies are the only channels affected. Has anyone any ideas how this can be fixed before I have to pay for an Engineer to come out? Many thanks.

If a message displays “no satellite signal” firstly check that the connections from the Sky dish going into the back of your Sky Q box are still finger tight. Otherwise it’s likely to be a dish alignment issue so check the troubleshooting in this link
https://www.sky.com/help/articles/sky-tv-no-satellite-signal-sky-q
It may then give you the opportunity to arrange an engineer to check the alignment of your dish. If it doesn’t you’ll need to contact Sky to book an engineer appointment which is free.
If you are connected to a communal dish you need to liaise with your building management company / landlord who will have their approved engineers to contact.
Remember, a misalignment is not necessarily something that will be visible to the naked eye and could only affect one or two channels.

Hi Daniel0120
Thanks for your quick reply, but, how can I be receiving the other Sky channels and not the movies if it is a dish alignment problem? Are Movie channels different to the others? Sorry, just trying to understand better. 🙂

All the Sky Cinema channels are broadcast on the same frequency and dish alignment faults typically only affect certain frequencies, meaning most channels still work fine. You will need an engineer visit to fix this.

Cheers, yeah thought it would be the case, communal dish so I'll have to chase the building maintenance folk
