No picture or souund

So, after some problems, sky engineer came today. Updated software and replaced the remote. All was going well but suddenly black screen and no sound! 

Can get to home page where it shows programmes but if i try to choose a programme, screen goes black. 

Settings show satellite signal okay and network connection okay.

Have you tried a Q box reboot @Jakrow 

To reboot press Standby on your Sky Q remote (if the box responds to the remote), and then switch off and unplug at the mains.
Wait at least 30 secs and then Plug back in and switch your Sky Q box back on at the mains.
Wait for the on screen instructions to disappear and the front led to turn Amber. Then wait for 30 secs before you press Home on your Sky Q remote or if this is not working press the standby button on the front of the Q box (Amber led)

note: some features may take up to 5 minutes to return.

Yep. Spent forever on phone with very helpful Sky tekki who got it going eventually. Turns out we have wrong software. Tried upgrading again but not responding. Been told to see how long it keeps going and if gives up again, another visit from engineer will be arranged!!!

What version of the software do you have? That sounds ... unusual to say the least.

@Chodley it says Q190.000.16.00L. The engineer reckons it should be 210....... or something like that

@Jakrow yep 210 is the latest software so your box being on 190 is on an older software
