No picture at all from sky box

I have no picture or sound from my SkyQ box. 
the mini box in another room is fine. 
The tv detects it as a source, and I get pictures and sound from other sources, but not the SkyQ box. The box is responding to the remote in that I can put it on standby and on again. 
we've tried unplugging for a few minutes twice, but still no picture. Any ideas what to try next?
